    Help with stand location.

I have been giving permission to hunt this 60 acres with access to the 20 behind it to search for deer if needed. Top is North. There are feeders just north of the big pond and east of the pond. Deer come from the north, east and west to water. No pine trees, just oaks and mesquite. Give me some ideas on a good bow stand and food plot location. What say you GS?

Can you define the property line a little better?

Need to see property lines better but along that fence line on the top right wouldn't be bad

Got an idea but would rather wait & see boundary. I may not be on the place.

This is a better pic of the main property line, from the FM road south to just above the pond and the fence line around. The back, top, pasture in the 1st pic is the 20 I have access to and could possibly hunt. I'm thinking about a food plot just North of the pond and a stand in the trees.

            Southeast corner/side of the lake.

That southeast little opening of the lake.... Plant it all in a food plot and hunt it. Some cover around it, and water close.

Is that a tree line down the west side? If so you could try the north east portion of it.

The tree line along the west side is fairly dense. There was a feeder last year just north of the pond by the stand of trees. There is a tripod on the ponds dam, south side, and another just north of the house on the east side. I will probably sit in a tree stand. His wife hunts the stand behind the house on the east, in the evenings. I will be hunting during the week, evenings only, and he, my bud, will hunt weekends and when he's home. I help with the fences and feeders and hunt for free. 3 miles from the house and can be in a stand by 4:30 every day. Plus a 170" buck was shot less than a mile from here 2 years ago. I'm pumped.

I was told this buck scored 174" and change. He has 2 tines that are 18" long and a few more over 12". He was shot just east of this place. I've seen some game cam pics and his genetics are coming on this place. Time will tell. Thanks for all the tips.

Im not a pro at judging antlers by any means but that deer doesn't look like a 170's deer.....I'd hunt close to the water hole or in the Northwest corner

Green would be the food plot, Red is the stand

Thanks guys. This buck is just a tad over 16" wide. When I first saw the pic, I thought the same, but when I saw the mount in person, I could see him being close. I didn't measure him myself, but with multiple antlers over 12", it adds up quick. Thanks again. Gonna scout this place out real good Saturday.

Ok folks. I've got 2 stand locations found. The pics here are located in the NW side of the place, NW of the pond. I'm going to plant a food plot just right of the feeder. Its a draw where water runs. Lots of sign here already with trails from the north and west. The second spot is gonna be located exactly where the dots are shown in the above post. I can't wait. Thanks for all the help. I will post with results this year.

if it were me,I would hang a stand in the tree line west of the lake, they will probaly use this as cover coming down rather than crossing open field, you have a lot of options, you will just have to hunt and observe the deers patterns and adjust accordingly, good luck

The bottom left tree in the bottom pic is the north point of the clump of trees in the NW side of place in the aerial photo. The top right tree in bottom photo is out by itself. Both trees are 25-30 yards from the feeder. I'm thinking the bottom left tree due to where deer are crossing. I'll have the cover of trees Behring me. Like you said, have to watch what the deer do.
