Feral Cats are some of the worst predators there are! Worse than racoons every day of the week and twice on Sunday's! If you cant shoot it, beat it with a bat!

We had a tom for years when I was a kid. It tied it up with a goose and slaughtered it. Amazed my Dad and I, the goose easily had it by 10lbs. But in the end that old cat won.

        Never underestimate instinct.

Sounds more like a bobcat or a raccoon than a feral cat.Feral cats are more likely to just kill somethin and leave it rather than eat it.Theres only one way to find out I suppose.Get rid of the feral cat and leave a trail camera out to see if anything else comes back for the other chickens.

If yo u suspect it is a bunch of coons, get some banana-flavored moon pies for your live traps. Coons can't resist them and the rest of the wildlife won't touch them. Best bait I've found for live traps or Conibear sets.

Dad keeps chickens. Everytime I go out to his coop, I do so with a .410. Killed many a cat in there as well as a few possums. Cats will easily kill a chicken and chicks are midnight snacks to them.

I would vote for the coon also, cats can and will kill chickens, but will have a fard time carrying them away, which is what cats like to do, all of them I've had experience with would drag the chicken to a corner of the pen and eat a bit. Coons generally like to carry off prey also, I but not terribly far. If it were a bobcat or coyote you probably wouldn't find any remains for awhile they like to take their kill to a place where they feel safe or to their younuns are this time of year. These are generalities and every animal is different just thought I'd throw another opinion out there. btw If a housecat isn't living in its own yard its out killing something and it will not hurt a thing to eliminate them (as long as there's no witnesses).

Not much way a cat killed 4 grown chickens and left nothing but feathers. Certainly could not eat 4 down to feathers as a cat does not eat that much at one meal, even a feral cat. You have some other predator on your hands.

Nothing on the trail cam or in the trap again last night. Apparently this was something of a hit and run.

I'd be satisfied for a couple of days after eating four full grown chickens.

Most likely it was a coon. We had a feral cat problem at my house but none of them ever killed my chickens. Cats will usually stick to smaller animals to kill unless you have young chickens. I spent months trapping coons and cats to thin them out.
