    Hog hunt question

So the wife took off in the truck, with my wallet to include my hunter safety card, license etc..license not a big deal but I don't want to get hit for no hunter safety card this weekend while I'm out on the lease doing some prep work and I get the chance to test the new bow on a hog or two

Thoughts? Let em pass? Not a big deal?

    You need both to hunt...

    Unless they're destroying your crops...

They can look you up in their system by your name and DOB to check and see if you have a license or not. Doesn't mean you wont get a ticket for not having it though......

Do you have to have a license for hogs since they are exotic or non game whatever they are considered. It would prob be up to the game wardens discretion. I don't want to tell you not to worry about it but never know. But I would think even if you did get a citation you could show proof and they could drop it.

This is what I've always been told, not sure if it's 100%. The TV show game wardens on the Outdoor channel has had a few cases like this and they take your info and check when they get back to the office. The ones who don't have a license get tickets in the mail.

Yes you do........ Unless you can prove they are destroying crops. And then you can not keep the ones you kill.

You have to have a license to hunt, exotics just don't have tags.
If you don't have either, I would not hunt...

Mine has a "HE####" on it... that number is not the same on my Hunter's Education card. You do not have to produce your Hunter's Education card to buy a hunting license.

Everytime I've been checked, I've been asked for my Hunter's Education card.

I was told that if you're hunting, you have to have it in your possession.

Ok I wasn't sure, I've never worried about it because I always have a license. Ignorant to that law cause I never thought about it.

Same here as far as being asked and I've always had mine.
From what I understand and I could be wrong if you are kiddo, including teenagers, you can hunt with an adult w/o the card but you will need it to hunt solo. And no you do not have to have it when you get your license.

That's when I took mine. I got a copy of it 4 yrs ago. The sad thing is they had my date of birth wrong on it.

yeah, I checked the website earlier too but I didn't find anything written there in black and white that said the card had to be in your possession while hunting.

IMO, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it!
