I've actually been bitten by one. Hurts! Not poisonous, though. I was a teen, sitting on the floor, playing video games. Felt an incredible sting, and when I jumped up, it was a wolf spider that scampered off out from under me. It left a couple of welts on my leg, but that was all.

I can also attest to a wolf spider bite...it's not poisonous....but it hurts like the dickens....like gettting stung by a yellow jacket. They don't bite unless provoked.....and I won't provoke one again! :-)

Me too! I played with them as a kid and never thought they would bite. A few years ago i nsat down in an old chail with a throw on the back. Felt something wiggle on my back and squirmed. WHAMMMMOOOOOO it bit me! I reached back and grabbed a whole handfull of one monster wolf spider that was bit onto my shoulder.

Looked like a snake bite in the mirror but didnt make me sick. Did hurt like heck for an hour or so.

I saw one of those in my garage this week having a stand off with a red wasp, and the wasp won. The wasp stung it and began to drag the spider across the garage floor. Needless to say, both got the boot!

x2000 here. I can handle almost anything, but spiders are not one of them.
                        Almost as bad as this

I have heard that even though the wolf spider is not poisonous, it sometimes carries a bacteria similar to stingrays on its fangs. Watch out!

When walking to the kitchen at our office to get a cup of coffee I saw one of the guys in the office prancing around like a scared little girl. I walk over to see what is going on and there is a pretty big wolf spider in the floor. I through a small box over him and slipped a file folder under and took it outside to hunt.
