    Anybody use Starrflight FOB fletching?

Saw a buddy of mine today at TTHA Hunter's Extravaganza in Houston. He was shooting in the 3-D tourney there and was using the Starrflight FOB fletching. I'd never seen this, but he's been using it for a while and likes it. Evidently on a pass-through shot, the fletching piece and nock come off and fall to the ground right were you shot the animal and the arrow goes on through. The science behind its design makes sense, but I wonder about the practicality. Anybody on here use and know anything about it?

Yep, been using it for about 3 maybe 4 years. Best thing since sliced bread. I have had no problems with them and they are extra easy to fletch a dozen arrows. Your fall away needs to be timed right and they could make you alter your anchor point if they contact your face some. You can shoot groups with them, but you will destroy some of the FOB's. They are not any better in controlling an arrow than any other fletching except in a crosswind and that is where they are better than any fletch period. This is not my opinion, but testing done with a Hooter Shooter. they are ugly on a shaft in comparison to regualr fletch, but until they come out with something better, they will always be on my shafts. I HATE TO FLETCH ARROWS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive been shooting them for a year now. Really tight groups and very consistent flight paths. You might want to buy extras though because you break a lot if you shoot at the same spot.

Thanks for the insight guys. I might try them just "because". "Because" always seems like a good reason to do things. I appreciate the help.

I have some I'll sell you cheap. I just couldn't get mine to group. I tuned and tuned my bow. I moved things around but no luck for me. I went back to 2" Blazers and it's a tack driver again out to 80 yards.

I got them at first, just because I thought they're were different and cool.

Now, I like them because they work well for me, and they're a whole lot easier to replace than fletchings.

I'm a FOB fanboy myself. I LOVE the fact they pop off and land where you shot the animal. Especially since buck fever affects my short term memory and I can't ever remember exactly where the animal was when I shot.
And Cameron can make you reflective wraps for them to make after dark recovery easier. Click image for larger version
