    Recommendation Needed

I need some help guys. I'm finally ready to get my first bow. I would like to get a Bowtech Assassin. Double G archery is right up the road from my house and I went by there earlier today and they were sold out. There was one SD version and Paul is out until Tuesday so I don't even know when he is due to get more in. I wanted to buy local and I was really looking forward to picking one up this weekend. At the very least I am going to buy from a true archery shop as I refuse to go to the big box shops. So now I would like you guys opinions on an alternate location that has a good reputation and would take the time to set it up and work with me and give me some pointers as this is my first bow. What would be a good place in the central texas area? I have heard really good things about CCR but thats about a 3 hour drive.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks everyone.

Would you guys say that CCR is worth a 3 hour drive? Again this will be my first bow and will need some assistance and patience.

No shop is worth a 3 hour drive when you are passing other quality shops along the way. There are plenty of good shops and site sponsors close to Austin, college station and what not that would be lots closer to you. I say keep it close, and shop around austin

With Double G right there in your backyard you should wait until Paul gets back and see what he can do for you. You won't find a better shop or a better person to do business with. Worst thing you can do is drive and buy one somewhere else and expect your local shop to work on it. Being it is your first bow you will need help from time to time so having a local pro shop will be worth it.

Staying with Double G is the right choice with you living in Hutto. Paul will give you all the help you need and there are always good people in his shop that you can learn from as well. Be patient for a couple of days. You won't regret it.
