Man, I loved reading this. Everything came to life in my head and I remembered the shop classes I took. I have no idea of where the stuff I built went, or even what it was.

I'd have the pump light and the gun rack out on display somewhere in my house if I were you John. That stuff is just too cool.

I really enjoyed reading that. Loved the pump lamp. My husband had a special shop teacher. An old black man. Arvin often repeats that man's wise words. "It gots to be square..it ain't square you gone go de wrong direction..end up plumb on Mars if you don't have it square." I don't know how many times I've heard him say that-even when he is working in the shop alone. Glad you posted this story.
