Just have to say it is good to see these distances stated. With all the talk I have seen of 80 to 100 yard shots being no problem(I cant even see a pie plate at 100 yards) its good to see the distances being shorter. Nothing against 100 yard shooters as long as they can hit 6 out of 6 grapefruits at 100 yards. I would bet those are few and far between.

Bet my avg is 20. Shot the deer in my avatar at about 15. Dont wanna sound unethical but if the right deer came along and the closest shot I could get was 40ish, I would take it. I am very confident I can make that shot but ALOT can happen when your arrow has to fly 40 yards.

20-30 is where i like my animal. i have killed them at 10 but it was hard and not relaxing. Freezing up and holding your breath at mid draw ain't fun. Even remember peaking out of cracks in my eyelids trying not to let it see the whites of my eyes.

18 yards to the feeder. 25 to the road where I spread corn. Longest shot was 42 on a Coyote munching on my sister pig she just shot for her first ever bow kill. Smoked him thru the body. He didn't go far.

20-30 yards, although if the buck of a lifetime sat at 40 yards, I am fairly confident I could smoke him.

30 or less. I am working to extend my range to 50yrds, but will have to make a LOT of improvment before I would consider flinging one that far. Unless of course its pigs. I would let them fly as far as I could see to kill a pig.

I typically hand corn from 15 to 22 yards and don't shoot if they're not on the corn.

This guy was at 20 yds, you can see my corn.
