My first bow belonged to my Grandpa. An old Bear Grizzly or Kodiak. I honestly wish I could remember. My uncle took off with it when Grandpa died.

The first bow I bought for myself was a Bear Bearkat takedown. My brother and I stumbled upon 2 of them at a yard sale, they were institutional bows. I have both of them.

The first compound bow I ever bought was a 1987 Jennings Super T-Star. I shot that bow for years, and it was really fantastic to me. Magnesium riser and wood limbs, 20% letoff, and the cables are actually cable and not string. My buddy is still shooting that bow to this day.

Longbow, recurve or the Allen compound and then a Jennings or Bear compound. Red Wing Hunter recurve to start, then to a magnesium riser Carrol takedown recurve, then a Bear Tamerlane Olympic style setup for a couple of years in 72 and 73, then the first compound I ever bought, a Bear Alaskan. Blew up in my hands the first time I drew it back when one of the draw length adjustment cams broke. Not a good way to start with a compound. Then many more after that first forray into the world of compounds.
        You dried fired it !
