He was sitting under a shade tree letting his buddy graze then he just took off walking. Saw him again later a couple of miles down the road.

He came by my house on Tuesday headed up 171 toward Weatherford. Sure is a well mannered donkey.

My wife saw him headed east on 171 near Hillsboro back in January. She felt sorry for him and took him and the donkey some food. He told her the exact same story posted above. He came through Teague a few days later headed east. He came back through headed west a few weeks ago. Cool dude and cool story.

Not to steal the thread. If this is who I think it is. His name is(Papa) Joe Friddle. And a very good friend.He is not Mexican(just well tanned).If he ain't wearing a shirt,it's because he gave it to some one. He is Viet Nam helicopter pilot. He was shot down multiple times,and wounded just as many.He lives life to the fullest. I had the honor, of riding with him on his Harley,in the Veterans day parade. He is now, in the Veteran hospital in Dallas,with severe heart problems.
