in light of our dishwasher at home going out and me and the wife doing dishes by hand every night, I remembered this joke.....


Son asked his mother the following question:

"Mom, why are wedding dresses white?"

The mother looks at her son and replies,

"Son, this shows your friends and relatives that your bride is pure."

The son thanks his Mom and goes off to double-check this with his father.

"Dad why are wedding dresses white?"

The father looks at his son in surprise and says,

"Son, all household appliances come in white."

My elderly neighbor's son built a new house for her. She had lived her whole life - 85 years - in the old frame house so when she got her new house, she had to show it to me. She was very excited. One thing she pointed out - this was the first time she'd ever had an automatic dishwasher.

I smiled at her and said, "yeah, I've got 2." She exclaimed "TWO??? How'd you get TWO?" I laughed and said, "one" raised my left hand and "two" raised my right hand. She busted out laughing. "Ain't that the truth!" I said, 'Yup and they work everytime I ask them to.'

She agreed. She said she didn't know how often she'd use that new fangled machine, but it sure was nice to have one. That, and central heat and air.
