    Hunting out of state

So let's say you're planning a hunting trip for the middle of November in Kansas, or any state or that matter. What do you put on your list of things to pack? I'm planning one this year and wanna make sure I'm thinking of everything.

Start making your list now, and everything you think of between now and then that you might need, write it down. Small grill, stands, extra ropes, zip ties, cameras etc. Trash bags, extra ice chest, etc.

Depends on whether or not your going to be tent camping or hotel, hiking in, away from water/food source.
November would mean Hot hands for sure

What kind of hunting? (drive in, pack in, lodge, cabin)
Where are you hunting? Mexico will be extremely different from a Caribou hunt
What are you hunting? Different animals require different gear

I have lists if you need them for elk (camper based), moose from a cabin, bear from a cabin, antelope with lodging provided, mt lion where I carry it all and caribou fly in and of course 2 deer lease lists for both a short and long stay

Tons of stuff to consider but first are what you are hunting and where.

A tape measure is usually at the top of my list.

the only things you cannot forget is
              bow
              arrows
broadheads (did that on a turkey hunt)
              release
              clothes
              stand (if providing your own)
as long as you have that stuff you can and its sometimes cheaper to buy other stuff there

Deer in Kansas. I'll probably be staying at my friends place, so that part of the trip is thought out. I mainly just want to make sure I'm thinking of everything for the hunt. I know there are some that have hunted that kind of terrain/weather and would be able to tell me some things they wish they had taken their first time.

If you're older than 45, ......reading glasses, and a pen to fill out your tag legally.
                  Ice chests, and knives.

If staying with friends i'd just plan it like a long trip in state, just double check on any rule changes and make sure you have your ID , Licence and hunter ed card with you. Just about anything else could be picked up after you get there.

check and double check the basics because that is usually where the least attention is payed. clothing, check check check weather forecasts before you leave it will save you from borrowing or buying clothes. boots, scent elimination products, archery equipment or rifle.

Listen to this man..... I promise he will lead you in the right direction. People like him make a lease much easier on everyone!!! He always has anything you need, but takes some flak over it.... Jim is the man!!!!!!!!!!
