    drivers test question

My daughter is taking her driving test in the morning. We spent 2 hours parallel parking today, she informed me that if she hits the curb she fails and has to reschedule.

That seems crazy to me as i dont know to many people that have to park like tat anymore...she is a good driver but not a great parker. I would hate to think she would fail for that.

Is it just me or is that outdated thinking.

That sounds strict. I can't remember the last time I parallel parked. Maybe only a handful of times in my 15 years on the road.

That's what they told us when taking our cdl driving test and I think I remember that from when I took my regular driving class.

One of my buddies just went through this last week and his daughter did poorly on the parallel parking but still passed

i just text a friend who use to do cdl driving test until she got promoted to inspections.

she said you fail if you hit a pole or curb.

she said it is only a few points off if you are not in the right spot but you have to try.

When I took mine...30 some years ago, you could fail the parallel parking but still pass the rest of the test.

My daughter touched the curb right off the bat, and the lady said go park it and reschedule. The second time she didn't touch the curb but was far away, and she lost a few points but was allowed to continue.

They do parallel parking first so they don't waste a lot of time driving around only to have the student fail.

My daughter took her test in December in Austin. She actually parallel parked my PICKUP. Those cones are set for small cars. Her instructor told her she could go up on the curb, but not STOP on the curb. Hitting the cones would be a fail. She backed that puppy in first shot. No Cones hit, no curb hit. Pass!

I did that umpteen hundred years ago when I took it.

I didn't want to bump the poles (or curb or anything else) and fail so I kind of halfway parked it way to far away from the curb and quit since parallel parking was not a requirement. I knew that it was only worth a few points and that I could almost ace the rest. I might have gotten the car in there and have not had a problem since but I was just too unsure of myself to risk the test.

After the driving test the trooper said that I was a lousy parallel parker and I would have to "work on it" but I passed. Anyone think that I cared about his comments? All I wanted was that certificate that said "PASSED".

Did yall do the home program or use a student driver school?

I never had to take a driving test doing the at home program.
