Just your basic CTL, cut to length system. They are fun to watch and run. Not a lot of them in our area, most are up north and such. Lots of cool stuff on the loggin jobs now days. Most are all mech, with no hands on the ground, especially a plantation crew.

I watched an episode of "Monster Machines", or "Modern Marvels" (I'm a Discovery Channel nerd) one time about logging machines. The machine they had on there like that wasn't a JD but was the same type of machine. They said the chain saw has a 30Hp hydraulic motor, a 42 or 48" bar, and has cutting teeth on every link of the chain.....unlike a handheld saw that only has cutting teeth on every other link.

Yep, seen that sucker do it's thing in NE Texas a couple of times back in the late 90's. I think the brand was from one of the NORDIC countries if I remember correctly.
