    AR help needed

I have a flat top AR. It came with a standard front sight post. I removed the front sight post and replaced with a lower profile railed gas block. NOW, I'm wanting to add flip-up sights. The gas block is obviously lower than the flat top on the receiver.....is this going to be a problem? What are my options here? I have a 1x Leupold tactical scope on the flat top now but wanted iron sights for a back up. I could just put the front sight post back on and use a flip up rear sight but I'm not sure if the front sight post will be a problem with my tactical scope. What say you?

    You could do this.
See Mike D's pictures of his Vortex optic system on the last page of the AR tactical cool thread. It looks good too.

What kind of furniture do you have on there? If you put a full length rail on there, you can attach the pop ups on it….and not on the barrel. They make all sorts of spacers if you need to adjust your height. Many optics will co-witness with front sights.

There are so many variables in “black rifles” that there are no straight answers. Sorry bud.

Let me know if you need links to some of the manufactures.

the rail on the gas block will allow you to use BUIS along with the scope. the original FSB shouldnt interfere with the scope, but if you already have the gas block installed, id just get the BUIS for ft and rr.

              Tommy what is BUIS?

Thanks everyone for the help. I have Mag-pul furniture...carbine length handguard....it would be great if I could attach a flip up FSP to the gas block? Any suggestions? I have a Magpul rear flip up....but its plastic and seems like garbage....it was free. Looking for a durable middle of the road set of sights????

Back Up Iron Sights. quite a few mfrs make them, from MagPul to Troy to YHM to many others. as long as you find the front sight for a gas block of your height, youre good to go.
