Any thoughts and opinions on this truck especially the Texas Edition 5.3L. Gas mileage, reliability issues, etc. Thanks

I don't have the Texas edition....but I haven't had any problems with my 2008. -
i have a 2009 and absolutely love it (minus the 4x4). No issues whatsoever. I've changed the oil and thats about it. 86K HARD miles and it runs like the day i bought it.
too much technology in these trucks. Dang truck things its smarter than your foot. ABS doesnt disengage and freaks out when it gets slippery.Comment

I have a 2008 with the 6.0L and it's the LT model.
Problems:
All my speakers are blown out. I don't have the bose package. A guy at work had the same problem with his 08. Easy fix, but kind of sucks.
Had 2 coil packs go out at 35,000 miles
The body is kind of squeaky if you drive around with the radio off
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the truck.Comment

My wife has an 09 Texas eddition Tahoe, 5.3, 6spd transmission, 3.43 gears, and we love it. 45k miles and ZERO issues.
She can get around 20 out of it, but I usually get around 17.5 when Im driving. I guess Im more aggressive.
I actually use the Tahoe to tow more often than my 05 Silverado.Comment

I have that truck with 145K miles on it and I bought it brand new.
I would say that I am not the guy to ask because I have had a lot of problems with mine but everything was fixed under warranty except for the door locks. 3 out of my 4 automatic door locks have screwed up. I had a cam and lifter job done at 20K miles and was in the shop 10 times for the rear end before they finally got it right. I think I just got a bad truck, but otherwise I love it.
I am thinking about getting a new one, want to buy it.
