    Muley's in NM??-unit 34

I drew a muley tag in 34. Due to tight schedule, I'm heading that way labor day weekend. Anyone know of some desolate water holes off the beaten path or some areas they have had some success in?

bring up the unit with Google earth and scan the heck out of it. You'll see water holes and all sorts of other stuff. This will be a good way to know what to expect when you get there

Use acme mapper 2.0 and scan the unit. Then look at it in the topo view and look for spring/tank ad landmark names.

A friend of mine from El Paso is gonna join me. He has hunted that area quite a bit. He mentioned an area know as Pasture Ridge...

Your welcome guys. I'm always browsing around my hunt units looking for landmarks, trails, tanks, springs, canyons etc.

I found a depression in the topo that looked like a water hole. I went and physically found it on the public land. There was only a little mud in it. I ended up setting up a camera and got a few nice elk coming in to wallow around in the mud.

No for me. There are several guys on here that have hunted that unit many times. Supertrooper is one that knows it really well.
