You gotta watch out...if you use it frequently, they will end up popping you, throttling you to dial up speeds

I have this and it does work. HOWEVER...when the iPhone "goes to sleep" (auto-lock) it disconnects. Haven't found a solution for that yet. FYI, I don't have the "never" option for timing out...5 minutes is the longest it will allow me. I think this is because its tied to a corporate email account. Anyone found a solution to this?

in settings>general> you can set autolock to never.

alternatively, I have found if you leave the drudge app open, it won't go to sleep

No, mine doesn't have "never". 5 mins is the max. Just downloaded drudge (hope i got the right one) opened it and it still timed out. Any other suggestions?

What he is saying is that because it is a corporate phone, his employer has restrictions in place on the device to prevent the "never" option. We have similar on our laptops.

Will this work on an iPad? i have aircard for my laptop, but tethering to the iPad would be helpful.

Download RunKeeper...it won't go to sleep with this app open.

Mary, for those of us with limited IT backgrounds, what will tethering my iPhone to my Mac do for me? Thanks!

you can use your phone's internet connection with other devices, ie, say you have a tablet and want to get on the internet but there is no wifi hotspot available, but your phone has internet....tethering as it is called is basically the connecting of said tablet or other device to your phone to leech on the phones internet connection

Does it download at the same speed ( 3g or 4 g ) as phone or is it faster?

yes, same as phone since it is the phone you are using as a modem....but don't think this is a substitute for regular internet....with att, you pull more than 2gb a month, they will pop you or at least eyeball your logs and they can tell what's going on....don't abuse it, use it sparingly and it's not an issue....

this is not for those that like to watch videos or stream audio

Don't shoot me.... But is this app for sale for Blackberry? I still have the Torch and haven't had a reason to change just yet. Thanks.
