Doctors and Guns?? Somebody Explain it to Me!

My wife is a practicing PA I asked her this question this morning while we are getting ready for work. She said that it is actually a pretty standard question. Doctors have a lot of questions they will ask. They call this the patients social history. This doctor was just very thorough. The reason he might ask is to make sure your household for any small children that might be present. My wife said it has nothing go do with Obama but it is part of a physicians job to counsel his patients to make sure they are being safe.

I'm not sure that it is the government that's requiring this but the insurance companies building up data for future use.

Happened to us last year in the Woodlands....told the nurse that it was none of their business. They were rude after that...we changed Docs

They ask some strange questions, my 6 year old daughter had her appendix taken out a couple of weeks ago and the nurse asked about 30 questions, on asking if she wears her seat belt in the car. Thought most of those questions were unrelated to her surgery.

My answer would be... Since it has nothin to do with my health and none of anybodys business im not going to answer that and if its a problem then i will change doctors

Was asked that just once by my doctor... I asked him when the last time he had sex with his wife was, how many times did they do it and was it successful? Dead silence for a little bit and a very strange look from him, but the question never came up again. He now knows I'm an avid hunter and smart*****.
