we have it, and have used it. you pick the appliances in your house that are covered. furnace, stove, air conditioner, etc..... they add monthly charge to CPS or public service bill. and if it goes out or breaks, they fix it. worth every penny
Customers of home warranty companies, such as American Home Shield can take heart that some previous home warranty lawsuits have resulted in settlements. One American Home Shield lawsuit resulted in a settlement, although the company did not admit any wrongdoing or liability in the settlement.
I have had it twice, used it twice. American Home Shield is easy to deal with, but the low grade contractors they use can cause you grief. That being said, I did get two new HVAC units replaced at a time I could not otherwise afford.
Just got it last month. Dryer quit the other day and called them up. Took 2 days to schedule an appt, but they came out and fixed it. I asked the service tech what it would have cost me without the AHS plan and he told me that I had saved about $200. The repair guy was from Sears. I love having the piece of mind that most things are now covered.
We have them have used them twice on stuff in the house. Worth it in my opinion. But I am not an expert and I know there are probably better deals out there. 42.00 bucks a month is what we pay.
