    Electronics question-Bose subwoofer

I have a Bose Acoustimass 10 system that sat in a closet for a year while I leased a house. I now have it set up in the new house but the right front channel will not work. I have done some trouble shooting and determined that the wiring in the walls is good and the speaker works. I also moved some of the jacks on the back of the sub woofer where everything connects and left the wires connected to the receiver and it moved the non working speaker so I know it's not the receiver. I has to be in the sub woofer. Does anyone know anything about these and can they be repaired? Is it worth repairing? Thanks.

My guess, and that's all it is, is to check for a bad connector. I think this is a diagram of the Bose connector on the back of the subwoofer. If you can check resistance for connection from the pin to the 2 wires to the speaker, you can rule that out.

Thanks for the reply Bill. It's not that type of connector. It's two rows of 5 RCA jacks.

I don't know anything about them to help, Bill. But I just thought I'd mention that there's a thread for guitar pickers that could use a post or two by you.

i think that there is a cable that goes from the Main unit to the Subwoofer. It has a kind of din connector on each end. If a pin is broke off on either connector, you will lose the correspnding speaker channel. Do a close up visual inspection of the connectors and make sure all pins are in place.

You can call Bose for repair.
