need a gunsmith in Cypress, Tx

My f-i-l got the bright idea to clean his 1100 and change o rings. he took out the trigger assembly and all kinds of stuff fell out. tuning fork, pins and some other stuff. I aint even gonna try to get it all back in there. from what he says, 20 ga o rings will not fit as this is a 20 ga on a 12 ga frame???

I don't want to mess with it and would rather have somebody work on it that knows what they are doing.

    any help is appreciated.

Lots of youtube videos on 1100 reassembly! =)

I was told the 12 gauge takes a different O-ring than the 20. Search my threads...I started one recently on the 12 gauge orings.

The gunsmith at Hotwells is recommended all the time by a guy at Mustang Engineering (my work). I have been thinking about taking my T/C to him for a trigger job.

They arent that hard to put together, I swore I would never touch one again after the 1000th time I sliced my finger open from rubbing a little oil in the receiver on the rails. Them sucker's get razor sharp!

i understand. from what my f-i-l says, last time he changed to o rings, you don't use 20 ga o rings because this old model 1100 was build on a 12 ga frame. the part of the barrel that slides down into the (action?) is the size of a 12 ga but the i.d of the barrel is 20 ga. I dunno. I don't know enough about it to argue with him.

took my t/c encore to the wanting a trigger job. was told they can't do a trigger job on a t/c. if you lighten to trigger pull, it decreases the tension on the hammer. guy said it wouldn't be a good idea. Again, i aint got enough smarts to argue with the guy. I just said ok.

i will go there as a last resort. took a scope to them to have mounted, bore sighted and have front sight removed from barrel. went to pick up rifle and was told I owed $75! most of that was for the labor costs of the small set screw to plug the hole where the sight was. said they had to "manufacture" the set screw because nobody makes a set screw that small. I told the guy I had a bag of them at the house I bought from Gander Mountain. He just shrugged his shoulders. Without the set screw, I would have only had to pay $18. Sure thought I shoulda got a phone call before they went to the trouble of making a set screw.

the piece that fell out is flat, about 3/8" wide and about 2 1/2''-3" long. I can't figure out where it goes.

Don't go to Hot Wells after dark, you may not make it out!

That place is the bottom of the barrel!

Pretty sure that's the feed latch which fits onto the action bar assembly
