    Which handheld GPS to buy??

I'm hunting public land this season and want to buy a GPS to aid me in finding my way in and out. Which brand and model should I get. I've never had one before and need one that user friendly to operate! Thanks.

I've used the one mentioned above, then ended up buying the Garmin etrex vista hcx,, and sold it and bought the Garmin Oregon 450 with the larger touch screen, and after using it I would say the 60csx is the best buy out of all those.

It is easier to use, extremely accurate, and will do what you need without the bigger price tag.

Garmin has some work to do on the touch screen......expected it to react more like a smart phone, instead it is extremely slow and you have to push the screen several times to get it to change screens.

Make sure you get one with an electronic compass. The cheaper one's you have to be moving in order to see the direction on the compass.

If you get a eTrex make sure to get one with a toggle switch to navigate. Much easier to write out names or Acronyms.

And Garmin hands down, never been impressed with the others

If your on a budget and want a GPS just so you don't get lost, Garmin etrex is the way to go. I've had mine for about 10 years and it hasn't failed me yet. I don't have any input on the others mentioned, I want to get one with maps etc. But just haven't dropped the $$$ on one yet! Good luck!
