How long to cook chicken drumsticks

Im gonna be grilling some drumsticks on the grill tonight, and was wondering how long is a good estimate of how long to grill them. I know they need an internal temp of at least 160, but about how long, and how hot do I cook them to reach that temp?

Over charcoal, I turn every 10 min. At the 40 min mark, I baste the side up with some Bullseye sauce then take off after 5 min and baste the other side while in pan. So, around 45 min total and meat just peels off the bone.
    Call me when it's ready!!!!

        Mine is gas, not charcoal

4 burner, so I can do either direct or indirect heat with the flip of a switch.

Any estimate to the temp? The grill has a thermometer, and Im OCD about cooking chicken, and this is a new grill so I havent done any experimentig with it yet.

actually, you want to try to cook that dark meat to about 185. 160 may be safe temp (not sure), but at 185 it will taste better & have a better texture in my opinion.

Yep, when the meat starts to pull up the bone it is done. Similar to how when cooking ribs, the meat will start to pull away from the each end of the bone. With the drumstick it will begin to pull away from the handle end. Cant really mess up cooking dark chicken meat. Making my mouth water just thinking about it.

                  Good luck.

Cooked em like sqiggy said. 10 minuets on each side, turned 4 times, then sauced. Cooked 5 minutes, sauced again (same side). 5 more minutes and took em off and sauced all over again.

Cooked over direct heat at 400.

Sauce consisted of Kraft Honey BBQ sauce, dash of soy sauce, dash of Frank's Red Hot hot sauce, generous sprinkle of McCormacks Grill Mates Sweet and Smokey steak rub.

                    Smack yo momma good.
