For Those Who Hunt, Own, or are Interested in Exotics

You need to buy this book. The ranch manager where i did my internship told me about this book and it is packed with all sorts of info. It details 80 species and also includes over 80 pages of other info about exotics.

It can be found on Amazon for around $15

Internship? Sounds pretty cool? I'm a County agent and get to work with all kinds of ranch managers from Cattle to Whitetail. What will you be doing? Sounds like your on track to a very enjoyable career!

I have already completed it. We did everything from bottle raising to medicating and darting. It was a blast!

BTW if you ever have to get in a dark room with 7 Himalayan blue sheep, dont do it... they will whoop you.

lol i didnt think about how that sounded

To be clear, we were pushing them through the deer facility, medicating them, and then loading them into a trailer.

Sure you were sippy LOL. Guy I used to work with got his clothes ripped off by "the little fallow buck" as he tried to cut its ear tag out. Figured out right quick why we weren't in the trailer with that thing.

LOL yes I was and he has the scars to prove it. I am also not ashamed to say I got my butt handed to me by a blackbuck in the trailer trying to pull the hose off his horns while the mexican helper was too scared to even let him out of the trailer. Definitely a job you have to have the passion for. I love it and will get back in it one day but on my own terms and place.

Yes fortunately didn't mess with those other than helping a buddy out one time. That was enough for me. Had a simmy come back on me one time after being darted while on the bed of the truck taking her to the trailer that was fun.

Started July 1st. Had to do with some settlement with the state comptroller. I had to sneak in a few orders on the 30th to avoid it. Lol
