Any ArcGIS guru's in the house? (Python scripting)

Hey, I am working on my Masters degree, and am needing to looking at yearly tree growth of a stand. I have about 150 maps I need to make and am wanting to program in Python IDLE an arcpy script to adjust the table of attributes (growth year) and symbology for each of the maps and then publish it as a PDF. I can get the script to import the map and publish as a PDF but I can't figure out how to get it to adjust the table of attributes. We never messed with the table of attributes and symbology in my intro to gis programming class. Do any of you know of an example script I could look at? I have googled every key word I know to try. Thanks for any and all help or ideas.

Shoot Xspot a PM . . . . he might be able to help you out. I know ArcGIS, but use the GUI . . .don't know squat about Python scripting.

        Good luck.

Think I finally found it, Thanks Simek, I may PM him because what I found is still very confusing... :-( but I think it will work.

I use ArcGIS and stayed in a Holiday Inn Express once, but have no idea how to do what you're asking to do.
