    Igrill

So I bought this gizmo called an Igrill. Basically it's a temperature probe with two probe that broadcasts the temperature of your grill and food via blue toot to your iPhone or android phone.

Expertly monitor the temperature of your choice cuts of meat with Weber's grill thermometers. The Weber Connect Smart Grilling Hub leaves nothing to chance.

It's not bad, but I have a feeling it's going to run through AA batteries pretty quick. The range is not that far either but good enough to watch temps from my living room or kitchen.

Anyone use something similar? I wanted details on the display as in the exact temp. I don't want to carry a little pager thing that will ring when the food is done.

Any updated reviews? I'm looking at getting a Bluetooth thermometer of some type.

Just bought a Maverick et-733, after researching wireless meat thermometers. From the research, most Bluetooth type thermometers lack the range that a traditional RF type thermometer has. If you plan on staying near your cooker, it should not be a problem. I just wanted the ability to move the receiver throughout the house with the smoker stationed out in the backyard. Was afraid I might lose the Bluetooth signal.

I've had one for about 2 years. Chef daughter got it for me, so semi endorsed. Recliner is not that far from pit so works well for me. Coke machine full of beer a little too far to read, but sometimes we must sacrifice.

I have both an iGrill and Maverick 735. Both work, I like the app with the Maverick better but neither range far enough to be useful for me.

I like mine.....had it for a year, use it 4 to 5 times a week on average and have replaced the batteries once.

I just bought the igrill2 at SAMs last week. It came with 4 probes for only $79. Used once Wednesday night on a brisket. Had one probe in meat and one monitoring pit temp. Went to bed(about 40' - 50' from pit) and it worked well most of night. Had it lose connection once in middle of night and thought it was a range issue. Had it couple times later during day lose connection when less than 10'. Each time it lost connection I had to power off the unit for a few seconds and power on to reestablish a connection so not sure it's a range problem. Going to try again soon to see what happens and may call igrill or return to SAMs if problem continues. Other than that it worked well. Did you have connection issues? If you walked out of range did it reconnect when you got back in range?
