Need ideas on homemade grease trap.

Ok folks, need some help. I need to put in a grease trap but do not want to pay for a “real” one. Any ideas as to what I could use for a tank and where to get it? It only needs to be between 20 to 30 gallons cause it’s not gona be used very much. Could probably get away with only 15 gallons if it is easy to clean out. I have been looking at PVC barrels but the ones I have seen don’t have a screw on lid.

Is this for your house or a commercial application?

Is this a grease trap or septic system?

Grease traps are not just a container in the ground. They are designed to seperate grease from water.

If you have a straight pipe going into your container and a "T" on the pipe going out of the container, you will have a decent grease trap. The water will have to rise up into the "T" before it goes out. The level of the water will always be half way up the "T". Grease floats and can't get up into the "T". Use a strainer made out of an old dip net with window screen on it to dip the floating layer of grease out.

              Yep. Grease trap.
I have downloaded many design drawings of them and just need a tank/container of some kind with a lid that lends to easy removal.

TTT. Any ideas as to a tank? Perhaps a source for a small plastic barrel with a screw on lid?

Do you anyone with a pool? I steal my neighbors empty chlorine pellet containers for keeping stuff dry at the lease. Typically they are 5 gal continers with a screw on lid
