What Tree Blind Safety Harness Are Y'all Using?

I recently took to the air.

But the harness that comes with this thing is JUNK!!!

I didn't feel safe in it at all... And every time you go up the tree it wants you to redo the strap to the tree... I'm thinking about leaving a strap up there with a carabiner... That way its alot easier than wrapping it around the tree and tightening it up every hunt...

    What are yalls thoughts?

Oh and a pic of the Set up in question.

Hunter Safety System. If your stand is semi-permanent, I'd leave a strap on the tree too. I bought one of those rope systems from Academy that have the fancy "prussic" knot. You leave it attached at the top of the tree, and attach to it when you climb up and down.

I have one if the hunter safety system vest you are welcome to try to see if you like it. You are welcome to try it for a couple of hunts. I will be on Lubbock after the first of August if you are interested.

Hunter Safety System's Ultra Lite is what I use and really like a lot. Bought my youngest son the Muddy brand safety harness and it isn't bad either. The HSS has coated buckles and I lean towards it a bit more.

You especially get what you pay for when it comes to harnesses.

With whatever vest/harness you use I recommend getting a fall guy retractable system. Works like a seatbelt.

When I use one I use a HSS. I've never used one with a ladder stand though

Thanks for the offer, but I don't borrow things, something my dad drilled in my as a boy. Plus come August we are going to be full swing into football and I won't have time to try it out until season.

Ive heard of the hss vest from TV.. But I'm a total newb to having a tree tall enough to strap onto.

This is a semi permanent stand... Will be there all season.

Yall keep the suggestions coming and don't be afraid to tell why you like it. As I don't know what to look for in a harness.

Take note from the most interesting man in the world.
When I swig a Dos Equis 20 plus feet up in a tree, I wear HSS. (:

Go to various company's websites and watch their videos.

First off: I'm afraid of heights... Its Not really the "being up high" part that scares me.... Its the falling all the way down there that really makes me un easy. I climbed that stand the first time with no harness got to the top and couldn't hardly moved I was so scared I was about to find the ground the hard way. So there no way I could have drawn and shot

Second off: 17 month old boy at home. Daddy is through taking dumb chances.

With the harness on I wasn't scared at all and felt at ease.... But the harness that comes in the box... its no Bueno.

I have a Gorilla G30 and it is nice. Super easy to put on, and very comfy. Some folks will argue that it is heavy, but I do not notice it when it is on.

I looked long and hard at the HSS, but didn't really want the vest style. I'm very happy with my choice.

All that said, HSS makes the best youth harness available. I got one for my daughter so she can join me on hunts (won't be long before she'll be drawing back with me!)

For a non-vest, I use a Summit Seat of the Pants. Along with Vantages point, you can get a HSS Life-Line from Academy for $40, it will attach above your stand, and tie off to the bottom of the stand. You clip in and slide it as you go, you are always connected. You can also take a Bowhunters Ed course, we cover stands and stand safety for an hour or two.

The harnesses that come with the stands aren't hunter designed, they are included because the non-hunting lawyer designed them and said they must be provided.

I'm going to get the HSS vest, I bought my son the youth model they have and I really like it so I figured the adult version must be pretty good too. I also recommend the life line, I use it with any of my stands that go up in a tree. It gives the wife as well as myself peace of mind knowing I'm connected at all times from the first step off the ground
