I've had that happen to me twice. Once offshore while fighting a bonita we were trying to catch for bait and once at the chandeleurs while fighting a big red fish. It will literally take your breath away when it happens... I caught the offshore one, a 9 foot tiger. the other one spooled my curado SF in about 3 seconds...
