    Video recording question?

    Attention videographers:

My sister videoed my recent wedding ceremony and the camera she used interpreted the brighter background light source and made everything in the foreground dark.
Can the video disc be re-recorded with the contrast/brightness adjusted to enhance and lighten the dark foreground?
I know digital photos can be edited/adjusted but I have no knowledge with the video recording capabilities.

Thanks in advance for your "enlightenment".

Video is an electronic signal and the truth of the matter is WYSIWYG-What You See Is What You Get.
It is very difficult to manipulate something that isn't there. You can try but it still won't come out 'pretty' or 'natural' or 'perfect'.
You're going to have to give up something in order to correct something else.
Was it recorded on tape or disc? And can you dump it over to an editing program that has some 'manipulation' capabilities?

It was recorded on a disk.
There is an outfit near Spring called Photo Source. I am going to check with them as well. They do alot of film to dvd conversions and duplicating disks etc. They might have the capability to do it.
        Thanks,
        Pazthru

You can do it with any PC/Apple/Unix system that has video editing software. Hardware/OS doesnt really matter that much except to decide what software to use, and how quickly its done.

Anyway, yeah you can do it with good video editing programs, just depends on how bad it is. Pat Miller is right thou, you are going to probably give up something to get it and its not going to look "good" IMO. Things like that really should be caught DURING the filming process unfortunately =\
