Is it illegal to park a trailer on the street?

Had a local officer stop by and say it was illegal to have my 6x10 trailer parked on the street. Said one of the neighbors complained.

I usually keep it at a different location and only brought it over cuz my neighbor wants to borrow it this afternoon. Hopefully its not the same neighbor that complained.

    I live in McKinney.

It all depends on local ordinances.Shouldn't be hard to find.

        This.

And it needs to be parked with the flow of traffic.

No clue about McKinney law but it is illegal in Waco if you leave it there for long. OK to load and unload but not to unhitched and leave just sitting there. We get around it by leaving them hitched.

Just a warning luckily. Think I'll leave it hooked up from now on.

I don't know, but I bet if you hook it up to your car or truck and leave it in the street, it will be just as illegal...

I live in a culdesac (sp) in Allen. When I was trying to sale my Waverunner I parked it out by the main street. I got a warning. I called about it and was told if it had been hooked up to a vehicle it would have been OK. How else was I supposed to get it out more visible to traffic?

then they better line up the tow trucks in Dallas, every landscaper in town does it....

Dallas has a twenty four hour limit on trailers, then they give you a warning, so it's really 48 hours

Commercial trucks and trailers are not supposed to be parked in a residental neighbor. Been through this with a couple of neighbors before. Now I just call 911 and have an officer tell'em to move it. And I don't care or worry about someone with a personal trailer or short term commercial but not leaving it there for days...
