a cure for the TX hog problem!!

If your are willing to pay 10 extra dollars for a hunting license and get a hog stamp. Then the state of texas can divide that money up with the 254 counties in the state. If 265,000 license are sold in texas next year then multiply that number 10 and divide the money with all the couties. Ends up being around 10 grand per county. Collect bounties on them. Lot of ranchers around here would be all for it im sure. If you dont pay the 10 bucks you dont collect.

Im sure more pigs will be shot and not passed up so they dont mess up there deer hunting.

Pass. Paying extra would make them a game animal, and subject to bag limits and other regulations, such as not being able to hunt them at night.

Just shoot the ones you see and that is about all that can happen.

Heck no! Are you crazy? Give money to do what is free. Hunting license are already way overpriced!

No it wouldn't. I guess it would be ok if you didn't want to pay and they didn't force you to buy it.

I don't like the idea, if the land owners want to attempt to control them they can sell hunts and make more money than any bounty will pay. They can either ask the deer hunters to kill a certain amount or advise them that they( the land owner) will be selling hunts during the off season

Im confused as to why you say paying extra on a tag would make them a game animal and create new laws for hunting hogs? They are a nuisance. Goose hunters have the right to a special conservation season on the snow geese which are also considered a nuisance where there basically are no rules of harvest or bag limits other than you can only use non toxic shot. To the op, I like the idea, id throw in an extra ten.

its a good idea... but like said above, it would mean bag limits and restrictions, and that takes away from the fun of slaughtering a whole pack with one clip on an AR

why would it mean bag limits and restrictions. The idea is to have no limits or restrictions, thats why you would collect a bounty. I know if I shot 4 or 5 in one day and could collect 20 bucks each i would be pretty happy. Beats just dragging them off in the brush

Why the heck would anyone pay for a hog stamp!? That animal is free to hunt.
Sounds like a cure to make TPWD happy with more money.
Not like we already overpay for hunting license. Absolutely no reason to pay for a free animal that's over run and very destructive.

Bow stamp, texas duck stamp, dove stamp and others. The bow stamp was started to see how many people bow hunted and it was to be temporary. We do not need anymore stamps (taxes).
