Going rates for a bay guide Rockport area...

I haven't been out with a guide in several years but my FIL is coming down for what may well be his last trip to the coast because of health and age and he is sold on going out for the day with a guide one last time... what is the going rate for two people

1-3 people around $550-600 for a full day (8 hours) plus the cost of bait is

Most guides around the Corpus/Aransas area including myself charge around...

1-2 people....$450-$550
3 people...$550-$650
4 people...$650-$750

It just depends what guide and how much his daily expenses are that usually is the deciding factor.

Around here those prices usually include bait, tackle, fish cleaning and ice.

Brunner is correct on some guides charging for bait . Some even charge $1 a pound for fish cleaning. However from my experience, most guides that do that seem to be the ones running down south towards Baffin.

I went on a day trip out of Port A a couple weeks ago and it was $450, 3 guys, all bait, tackle, etc. included, they cleaned and packaged the fish for a small fee ($12 I think). 6 hour trip 6am-noon.

I would say 700 for 4 people if its a bait trip.

My rates in Port O'Connor for 4 people are:

Half Day (5 hour trip) $475
Full Day (8 hour trip) $575

Plus cost of live and dead bait ($50-$100)

But I give TBHers discounts ;-)

I have fished with him half a dozen times or so, great guy and the dude puts you on fish.

We pay $450 for 2 people half day

Going with Phillip Durst with ( Just one More Guide Service ) out of Rockport on the 16th of this month. his rate is 500 1-3 people and $ 50 extra after that. and he provides it all.

Yep Terry is a great guide. Went out with him last week. Works very hard to put you on the fish.
