I was looking for suggestions on new speakers to replace the factory doors and dash and possibly even sub under the rear seat. This is the non jbl radio so the stock system is just not great at all in the tundra. I want cleaner, clearer music with a little boom. Not so much that everyone in town can hear it but a little louder. Any ideas? I would also like to leave the truck looking like stock so probably stick with the factory headunit

My wife just had infinity speakers and alpine amp with kenwood head unit put in her Camaro and it sounds great. I was thinking of going with the same amp and speakers when I do mine. I do know when they change the speakers in your truck even her car they will have to make spacers or cut out the old speakers to use as spacers. I have a new tundra so they told me the same thing. I would also recommend getting the dynamat for sound proofing.

I upgradedto say the least----------------
Over Christmas my dad and I took on the rear folding seat mod. With my dads trusty dremmel tool we made short work of the brackets and had them installed and working well on my rear seats.... thank you all that have posted diy tutorials to get us through the mod.
My next venture was to take on my audio on my stock non-jbl system. My first upgrade was the door speakers. I got the door panels off and went to work with dynamat xtreme and then 1/8" dynaliner on top of that before installing the polk audio db651 in all 4 doors. The only trouble came when trying to put the door panels back on in the rear. I had to get the dremmel out again and work on the inside of the door to allow room for the polks to fit. The dynamat wasnt that difficult to install but all together it took me around 7-8hrs before I was finished with that and inside eating supper
When I turned on the radio the first time I immediately knew that this was a good choice. The polks sounded a million times better than the factory speakers and this was still on the factory headunit. I had been researching touchscreen headunits for awhile so this would be my next time. I finally decided on a pioneer avh-3400 but when the package arrived the company had sent me the new 2013 model for no extra charge. I installed the headunit with and the whole system really came alive in the truck. I also modified the dash speakers with kickers 3.5"s and immediately I had the highs and mids covered. The bass knob was installed in the blank spot next to my aux port that is no longer useful because of the upgraded headunit.
Next up was the sub and mono amp. I searched long and hard but the only option that kept coming up for what I wanted was the jl audio stealthbox and jl audio xd600/1 amp.... Before that was completed I desided to dynamat my rear wall and floor to a point. I pulled the rear seats, got rid of that black mat that covers the rear wall, and then cleaned everything up with a degreaser... I applied dynamat xtreme and then covered it with 1/4" dynaliner.
Installed the seats, sub, and amp and then was literally blown away. Wow----this sub really hits. Very impressed as my truck became almost brand new to me yet again when the sound woke up in the tundra like never before.
Since I performed the rear folding seat mod I needed the ability to work both sides of the 60/40 rear seats and the universal seat covers I installed early on didnt allow easy access without going to both sides just to get the seat to lift soooooooo...... I bit the bullet and ordered cabelas tactical seat covers. They installed much easier than I anticipated and I am very satisfied so far with their fit and the way they look....I know I am now actually close to finishing all the mods I ever wanted to do
