    Killing Mesquite via helicopter

The gentleman that runs the cattle nuked about 70 acres of mesquite from a helicopter. All the mesquites are yellow and dropping leaves. My question is what should I expect the acreage to look like season. He wants to improve production of the property. I do not think it will help me, but I am going to wait and see. There is no pasture area on the land right now but seventy acres is almost a third.

The results will vary as to the effectiveness of the spray. A lot of time the mesquite will drop their leaves but it wont kill them completely. We have used planes and helicopters to spray with in the past without much luck. Spraying from the ground with sled w/booms pulled behind the tractor has given much better results.

Does he plan to bulldoze once he thinks the mesquite is completely dead or just leave it standing?

I really dont know his plans. Can he increase production if he just sprays and the stumps remain.

Best to remove the trees after spray either mechanically or controlled burn. Next spring it should look pretty good
