    GPS Tracking Collar

Did a search and didn't find any current information.

What's the best GPS collar for the money? Also.... it will only be used on a blood dog(s) for trailing purposes.

I've been looking at the SportDOG TEK system that's an E-collar/GPS in one but the GPS only shows the location of your animal.......it doesn't record the "trail" he took. I like the E-collar option for basic obedience (not tracking) of my dog when he's at home/around people.

The "L", a tracking only system, and the "LT", which offers tracking and training capabilities. Collar-receivers come as separate, compact modules that fit together on a single collar strap. All components feature SportDOG Brand's DRYTEK design, so they are waterproof and submersible to 25 feet. The other is the GARMIN unit that is only the GPS system, which looks like it is a bit more complicated to use and more expensive.

Cable Smith was on the air this morning on the Cabelas Outdoor Show with a guy who was talking about his companies collars. From what I understand they could possibly be what you are looking for. I bet he is a sponsor of the show. I know nothing about them just thought this may help.

I am a dealer for both and don't go with the sport dog. It can't do half of what the Garmin can do. PM me and when I get back in town I'll shoot you my number and will discuss what I'm talking about

Garmin is the way to go, use them for hog dogs. Shows distance, trail, and when they are bayed on a hog. Simple to use too.

Thanks guys. Is there a big difference between the Garmin 320 and 220 GPS's and the DC30 / DC 40 collars?

From what I've read, its around ~25 hours and they're rechargeable.

I have used Etronics for years and they have never failed me. I have the Classic 70 G3 EXP.
Love mine but I do not have the need for GPS on my dog. If you need that, go with Garmin all the way.
