    The Spade Ranch ????

Is there anyone who hunts the Spade? I have a friend that use to hunt it a few years ago and now I have lost my lease I have been trying to find something and was just wanting to see what the quality and atmospher is like on the Spade.

I've got a good friend that hunts it. They all take good deer every year. He's been trying to get me on with him for a few years now, but his group doesn't allow bowhunting in October. That kills it for me. It's also a pain that they have to remove their trailers after the season.

Not much help, but our northern border hits the Spade ranch's southern border.

When I'm in my rifle blind, I can see part of it.

My dad hunts on there and they have some good deer. Pretty country in that part of the world.

My dad missed a mountain lion on a ranch that bordered it about fifteen years ago.
We had some pretty good deer out there. If I lost my lease and something came available out that way I'd check it out. Good luck.

There is several divisions of the Spade, The Renderbrook is south of Colorado City, I know Wagon Creek is in Throckmorton. Some in the Panhandle and far west Texas.

              Why no bow hunting?

Some of the Spade out here will not have deer. You have to get down around Post or Gail on the Spade to get deer and they do have some good ones. They do have some great yote and p dog hunting on some of their places out here in the panhandle if you can get on. Fortunately my neighbor has access.

There's some near where you hunt now. Some of the panhandle Spade is MLD for Mule deer

Nope, his name is Sonny and he is a DPS officer and his territory before he moved here was in the Levelland area and he got to know some of the area Spade managers and was given permission to hunt the places basically without the deer population.
