Has anyone heard of a chl class that is legal in 39 states license is out of Florida? They are saying no qualifing with a gun and it is a two hour class.
What is yalls take on this?
That's a tad deceptive in my opinion. They are just playing up the reciprocity agreements between states. It will still be a state issued CHL. Apparently the state that is issuing it (Florida?) does not require range qualification and will issue licenses to out of state residents.
And a lot of states are starting to not recognize non-resident CHL's. Spend the extra time and money to get your Texas CHL.
ditto...it is really a good class. don't be concerned about the range qualification - it isn't terribly difficult, but it does at least insure that one possesses some basic skills and can safely handle a firearm. I think its a good thing.

Florida actually requires no class at all. If you wanted, you could just fill out your application get fingerprinted, and a passport photo and get a Florida CHL. All you would need is something to show proficiency with a firearm, and they accept alot of different things, experience in shooting competitions, any gun safety class, hunter education, military or law enforcement experience. There is a law on the table next time the legislature meets and if passed Texas will not honor non resident permits from other states though.
