Sitting in a blind waiting on an axis

First time ever hunting axis. I managed to turn a work trip into a hunting trip too.

In Bandera.

What can you tell me about hunting them?

Move all day? Late morning?
We have sweet feed out.
Ashamed to say I'm cheating using my rifle.

They move like whitetail or when the feeder goes off. If you can drive around to locate the herd, I would spot and stalk. Lots of fun. Tough, but fun.

From my experience, they move at all times of the day. I've seen them early and late but also right in the middle of the day when it is 97 degrees outside. Good luck.

They graze quite a bit. They may not even come to the feeder if they have grass to eat. You may have better luck getting out and trying to find them.

From my experience axis aren't nearly as patternable as whitetail.
