How long does this process usually take? It's been about a week, and I was just curious. I know it's supposed to take longer than that but would love some information from some of you that have a security clearance.

Mine came back in less than 30 days, but it depends on their case load and priority. -
I figured it would take some time, it's nothing that they can do super fast. I have heard from several people if you didn't move around a whole lot and didn't have tons of jobs that it could be sped up a little quicker.Originally posted by Snipehunter View PostComment

When I had to have a FBI background check for clearance at the airport, it took right about 2 weeks. They said that was on the fast side of things, often times it could take up to 30 days.
It took the goons at the airport longer to process my paperwork.Comment

They monitor tbh and wait for the applicants to complain and then add 3 weeks...Comment

A DoD background check took me about 3 months. It takes time to do a full criminal and mental background and then for some levels they interview friends, family and neighbors, check all former addys and jobs, etc...
But once you pass it's worth it's weight in gold applying for other jobs when they don't have to spend $15/20K to get it done!!
Just don't lie or hide anything at all. If they ask, answer truthfully cause they "will" find out. Sneaky little bastages...

For that level it shouldn't be too hard or long. With the defense industry taking it up the ole wazoo thanks to O I wouldn't think there would be to many trying right now...
They were brutal on me for my level and I should of at least got a reach around...
