The wife and I are looking at buying a 1999 coleman niagra pop up camper it has a few issues but the main one I'm worried about is that one of the cables has broken so one corner will not raise up you have to physically raise it yourself and brace it up. My question to you the all knowing green screen is this, has anyone had this happen to them and how hard is it to fix for someone that's pretty mechanically inclined. I think the trailer would be great to use for awhile until I could afford a fullsize camper. But that worries me alittle and don't want to have to rig it everytime we took it out. So what ye oh great green screen. Can it be done or run for the hills? Thanks for the help!

The cables are cheap. Fixing them inside the lift arm is a little challenging but you can do it. I replaced two of mine a few months ago. Took a couple hours. Look on the net for instructions specific to your model. Would of been faster but I had no help. Get you a helper and its no big deal.

I have heard it is much easier than it used to be.
this video is not a how to on how to fix the cable but might come in handy in locating the central area to start.
Hope it helps a little.

While looking at buying a used popup I keep finding posting about coleman and the ABS roofs. I decided it was not worth it to worry about this issue so I bought another brand. Please google coleman popup ABS roof problems, before buying, then you make the decesion that is right for your family. Goodluck
