Any small engine mechanics on the GS?

Crafstman riding mower with a 20H Kohler, dual came engine. Cranks, but doesn't turn over. Need some troubleshooting ideas........

I disconnected the fule line behind the external fuel filter and gas did flow out. However, when I put it back together and cranked it, no gas was pulled back into the filter.

Not sure what this black, circular looking thing is to the left of the filter.

how old uis the gas and was it ran dry over last winter? If the gas has been setting a while does it have stabilizer in it? With the ethanol most small engines are fuel related.

that would be the fuel pump sir,had to change one on the welder a while back.
that has a rubber diaphragm inside that is generally what goes out.
I don't know about parts today I guess try the auto chain stores.

i figured it was the fuel pump, or regulare thingy...... thanks for the help. Lindsey's in South Austin should carry the part.

mower had been running fine all spring and summer so far, this problem started a week ago. funny thing is, it started just fine yesterday. NOT today!!!

Pulled the fuel line off going from pump to carb and have good fuel flow. Pulled spark plug and have good spark. Finally pulled fuel regulator solenoid and it was stuck. Got it freed up and mower starts like a champ now.
