Why do UPS Stores Not ship ammo??? Hubs only

Long story short, why do UPS hubs not ship ammo? I got different answers from three different stores...Now I get to drive an hour out of my way to keep my word unless the buyer and i can work something out. The kicker, they are only open Monday through Friday. I try to be more prompt than that, even USPS is open on Saturdays. No more shipping ammo for me, EVER. Thanks for letting me rant. However, if there is a UPS Store owner or manager here on the great Green Screen, please let me know. Thanks, Eric

Got a better answer from a Fedex shipping place, they will do it. Off to them....UPS just lost my business permanently

FedEx is better anyways. There shipping is alot faster and they seem to care about the business more.

I don't ship ammo for just that reason. The last time I did ship some Fedex and USPS would not touch it. Only UPS would and it had to go ground and had to be dropped off at a UPS distribution center.

That's been several years ago so things may have changed.

You can ship it in a USPS flat rate box. List it as other I never have had an issue.

Funny how you can ship a long gun through the post office but not ammunition. And you can ship a pistol if you are a dealer.

UPS also will NOT ship to APO's( military). I boycotted them, & FedEX, when I found this out. If you don't support our military, I will NOT support you.

Tidbit of info-it was a franchise UPS store that had the policy and informed me that it was corporate policy. An independent mail company that handles usps, ups and fed ex will help immensely. They know the rules and even find the best price between carriers. That place has earned my business from now on. And he is he closest to my house.....one bad experience that was turned positive. Guess Someone was smiling at me today!
