    I'm Sailing Away

This is not a political thread. We are not discussing why we are sailing away. We are only discussing what type of sailboat we want and where we are sailing to.

    That's it.

          This one looks good:

Leaving out of Galveston, headed to ??? first..... Never been to the bahamas. That sounds like a nice first stop.

Perhaps you missed the part where I neither have tears nor am crying. I'm sailing, see title

Well, we used to own a little Victoria 18 sailboat, kept it in a slip on Lake Lewisville. Ours was yellow hulled, white sails, but this is the model.

We've also been on 4 bareboat charters (2 weeks each), 3 in the Bahamas (in the Abaco Islands) and one in the Virgin Islands out of Charlotte Amalia and into the BVIs. The Bahamian boats were 32 ft and the VI boat was 44. There were two couples each trip. A bareboat charter means you pay to provision the boat with food, but you captain/crew it yourself. Out of many things we've done in our 35+ years of marriage, these trips have to be near the top of our "so glad we did it" list. We had some close calls and exciting times on blue water

              Always liked this sailing song.

              And this one, too...

And, if we ever sail again out of the country, we WILL be coming back to the good ole USA

Can't believe I left this song out...
This was the first and ONLY song I ever learned the chords for on guitar

                I particularly like this lyric:
"If you smile at me, I will understand, cause that is something everybody everywhere does in the same language"

Our first day out on the 44' in the VI, I puked over the back of the stern - we had very fair winds that day, and a rolling sea. I got over it though
