depending on the year the home was built and your energy provider you might qualify for one of those home energy recovery act tax credits. A company will qualify you and come out to do some "energy efficiency" work and blow insulation for next to nothing.

I went through this last year. I'm a DIY'er so I was planning on getting stuff at HD and getn it done. However, after getting a price from guy to do it, I was only going to save maybe $100, plus would have to take machine back, and fight the heat, and mess with dancing on the rafters. I'm a fairly tall person and my attic isn't real roomy. It was a no-brainer for me to pay $750 to have it done. BTW, I have noticed a huge diff in heat/cooling. The guy that did mine may could do yours, he lives in Grand Saline, not too far.
