    Quest Hammer

    Guy’s

I am having some issues with my G5 Quest Hammer. I have tried to suppress the vibrations of the bow when shooting. I know you will have a little, but this is a lot compared to the other bows I have been able to shoot. No matter what I install on the bow, it seems to be the same even with a stabilizer and dampeners on the upper and lower limbs. I do enjoy shooting my hammer, but it’s becoming a nuisance. I am looking at a Heli-m but not sure yet. Any other ideas that would cause this much vibration? I called Quest and they said that they have not heard of this before. So this is why I am reaching out to my TBH brothers for some help.

    Thanks

i would recommend taking in to your pro shop. have them watch you shoot it and maybe then can identify the issue. something minor might need to be tweaked, a bolt/screw tightened, etc. hopefully it's something that can be taken care of quickly and inexpensively. i would recommend that before dropping a quick "$K" on a new bow, unless that's just what you want.

are your accessories locked down tight ? sight, rest, quiver ? string silencers installed ?

Put some weight into your arrows via weight tubes and watch the noise and vibration go away. If everything is tight, tuned and ready to go the energy that is produced by the limbs and cams that is transfered into the string, only so much can be absorbed by the arrow. What is not absorbed by the arrow goes into noise and vibration. String silencers will help with both along with a stabilizer or stabilizers and a heavy arrow. I also agree with clayg08, let a pro shop look at it.

I have actually heard of others having this problem with the quest line. Do some research and you may be able to find out what it is.

Thank you all for the help. I did take into a pro shop for a tune and they did notice some things with the bow and were fixed there. I will try the arrows. I have been shooting carbon for a while, and have not had an issue intil this bow. I am starting to suspect that its the bow. But before i sell it, i wanted to ask for some advice.

          Thanks again!

I found a Quest Hammer for a great price and am seriously thinking about picking it up... despite your problem, would you recommend this bow?
