If anyone else in the house smokes, good luck. the temptation is going to be a beetch because of that continual reminder even if you WANT to.

                Don't "try" to quit.

Tell yourself its over and there is no other option.

Tell yourself you are a sissy if you give into some stupid habit.

I quit snuff cold turkey without ever having an issue. You just gotta really decide that is your decision. Your brain is considerably more powerful than any addiction if you will let it be.

Good luck to you too. The way I see it, I quit smoking and will be able to afford a very nice hunt in no time, live longer and my sons will have a better chance of being a non smoker when he grows up. We can do this

Nicotine works out of the body real fast, that's why the body sends the craving signals.
After 72 hrs the nicotine is out of the body and the body will do with out in another 48 hrs.
After that it's all mental. not physical.

The first 5 days are the worst, I was lucky I found out I have a blood disorder that causes the platelets to stick together worse than other people by 1000 % so I had to stop.

Been out of smoking 13 yrs this time, I still catch myself reaching in my pocket for a smoke.
5 days dude, just 5 days and then when you feel the urge do something(pushups) for 20 seconds, that's all the longer a crave lasts.

Good for you! And good luck! No tips, though - never been a smoker. Best help I can offer is to watch your son mimic you. If that doesn't help I don't know what will.

                              Medicine.

Go to your Dr and get one of the prescriptions for quitting smoking. They work. I am proof of that.
Wellbutrin worked for my dad. Just be sure and follow the directions on titrating onto AND off the med.
