    The condor has a variety of issues from low clutch size, DDT making eggs thin, poaching, habitat destruction, etc.

    Interesting read... seems Turkey buzzards are super-birds and are a 'poor model' for what detrimental effect lead actually has on them.
    One could conclude from that article (no matter how hard they tried not to say it) that since their numbers haven't decreased, or that of any other predator/scavenger species I can think of or can remember have read about...).. that the California Condor is a weak bird... or the numbers are fudged and it is not in as much danger as the ones pushing the ban legislation would have you believe.

      I have a hard time understanding why this is an issue NOW all of a sudden... I have a feeling it is much ado about nothing... but if the right studies are done and prove that there is a problem... I'll switch to whatever my alternatives are.
