I had been toying with the idea of a big Diesel more for the looks and a little for the towing capacity and had been leisurely looking around for one that needed a new home. I happened across this rig here on TBH a couple of months back and it was in immaculate condition and had the ever popular 7.3 in a Crew Cab format. An added bonus was the huge tool box, grill guard, leather and a perfect interior as well as only 82K miles.
I got bit by the bug and before Thanksgiving I found a guy that needed to part with the 325 series tires mounted on Mazzi 20's. I waited him out and he finally needed cash more than the tires and wheels. I picked them up and put them into storage.
I then began the quest to get it high enough to fit the tires under the beast and finally opted for new and additional springs to level the front and they fit great.
I have now got the power bug and have added more air flow and just straight piped it from the turbo back for great low end and a killer sound,,,I mean I like it, not real sure about the neighbors, lol.
A special thanks to Splitfinger on the transaction and great maintenance on the truck.
I just like it for the "cool factor" and now I can be one of the "big boys", lol. The kids love it and want to ride every morning to school in the rig. The wife is pretty keen on it as well. It sits much more than it rides down the road since I have a company truck for day to day use.
Here are a few pics,,,
